IPRIA/CMCL Conference

Keeping Secrets in Times of Weak Law

A one-day conference to be held at the Melbourne Law School, The University of Melbourne on Friday will be held at the University of Melbourne on Friday 25th November 2011

WikiLeaks demonstrates the fragility of secrecy as a technique for protecting information. Yet secrecy remains a preferred technique for government and business security, innovation and creativity, social networking and other forms of social intercourse. Should law do more to support secrecy or should parties be left to look after themselves? Should we simply expect less secrecy in a networked society? Is secrecy perhaps becoming less desired than before?

This conference is targeted at IP and media professionals, business managers, patent attorneys and policy analysts, academics and students. The conference will discuss cybersecurity, trade/commercial secrecy and privacy. Please see below for individual session details.
